Physician-Guided Performance Program

A 16-week personalized health and performance program designed to establish an objective baseline, identify meaningful opportunities for improvement, and translate that information into a practical, individualized plan.

The program combines physician oversight with comprehensive laboratory testing through Function Health and objective measures of body composition, cardiovascular fitness, strength, mobility, and overall physical performance. The goal is not simply to collect data, but to integrate those findings with your medical history, lifestyle, nutrition, sleep, recovery, and individual goals.

Phase one

Baseline assessment

At the beginning of the program, you complete:

  • Comprehensive laboratory testing through Function Health
  • Review of nutrition, sleep, recovery, lifestyle, and personal health goals
  • VO₂ max testing
  • DEXA body-composition analysis
  • Mobility and functional movement measures
  • Strength and grip-strength assessment

Dr. Altman reviews the results and develops an individualized health and performance strategy focused on the areas most likely to produce meaningful improvement.

Phase two

Ongoing physician guidance

Monthly physician check-ins throughout the 16 weeks to review progress, address questions, evaluate adherence and response, and refine recommendations as needed. Areas of focus may include:

Cardiovascular and metabolic healthBody compositionStrength and mobilityNutrition, sleep, and recoveryOverall physical and mental well-being

Phase three

16-week reassessment

At approximately 120 days, key objective measurements are repeated — focused laboratory testing, DEXA body composition, VO₂ max, and relevant strength and mobility measures.

The final physician assessment compares baseline and follow-up results, identifies measurable changes, reviews what worked, and establishes priorities for continued improvement beyond the initial program.

Understand where you are. Measure what actually changed.

The philosophy is simple: understand where you are today, identify where meaningful improvement is possible, implement a thoughtful and sustainable strategy, and use objective data to measure what actually changed.
